Sizemore Heats Up Attacks On Oregon Unions

Rackateer Bill Sizemore’s anti-union campaign is heating up--hitting Oregon airwaves with deceptive ads about Measure 64, which would silence the voices of average Oregon workers while handing over even more political power to corporations and rich out-of-state donors. He’s purchased air time on Clear Channel stations across the state--even running them on Air America radio, which is owned by Clear Channel in an attempt to persuade progressives that Measure 64 is about election transparency. You may have heard them already. They sound like this:

FEMALE VOICE: Measure 64 will finally bring transparency to Oregon campaign finance laws. MALE VOICE: Currently, some special interest groups are using a loophole in our laws to comingle the money government collects for them, with their political funds. They use our public resources to collect their campaign money. FEMALE VOICE: That’s wrong and unethical. MALE VOICE: For example, the public employee unions are using the comingling loophole to spend millions on candidates who will vote to take away our right to a secret ballot. FEMALE VOICE: That’s bad for all Oregon Voters MALE VOICE: The public employee unions have also spent hundreds of thousands of these comingled dollars on the race for secretary of state who conducts the audits for state agencies and public employees. FEMALE VOICE: That’s bad for Oregon taxpayers. (music cue) MALE VOICE: Measure 64 stops this kind of unethical comingling and inappropriate use of public resources and will bring transparency to Oregon’s campaign finance laws. Vote yes on Measure 64. FEMALE VOICE: Paid for by Oregonians for Honest Elections

The truth is that there is nothing honest about racketeer Bill Sizemore or his sleazy anti-union, anti-worker campaigns. Measure 64 is Sizemore’s 4th attempt to silence the voices of Oregon workers. We’ve stood up three times before and said “NO!” It’s time to do it again. Visit www.dontsilenceourvoice.com for more information or to get involved in the fight.
