Committees Debate a Slate of Ambitious Resolutions

Three committees met to debate resolutions this afternoon, and as the final committee wraps up I am excited to announce that we will have a strong slate of resolutions headed to the convention floor this evening.

Highlights include a strong commitment to organizing among all of our affiliates and cooperation across affiliates in organizing campaigns; outreach to all members so we can increase the diversity of our movement, including the creation of strong constituency groups and a new youth caucus; and support for the January ballot measures that will make our tax system more fair.

I don't have time right now to talk about the whole list of inspirational speakers we heard from this morning, but suffice it to say that with gubernatorial candidates, national labor leaders, and state legislators we left the morning session knowing we have some of the best allies we could ever hope for.
