We’re proud to announce our new Secretary-Treasurer, Sarina Roher!
The Oregon AFL-CIO Executive Board unanimously elected Sarina Roher as Oregon AFL-CIO Secretary-Treasurer on June 21, 2023.
Sarina is a union nurse, and serves as Secretary and Steward for OFNHP, AFT Local 5017. She brings decades of experience on the shop floor to our Federation and we’re incredibly inspired by her spirit of justice and her fight for the rights of all working people.
She possesses a deep passion for meeting the diverse needs of her patients. Her unwavering commitment extends to providing compassionate end-of-life planning and care, as well as advocating for equitable healthcare access and affordability. Born and raised in Tacoma, Washington, Sarina has been a resident of Oregon since 1993. Currently, she holds the position of Secretary for OFNHP, AFT Local 5017, while also shouldering various other responsibilities. Throughout her career, Sarina has served as a shop steward and Chair of the Professional Bargaining Unit for Kaiser. In these roles, she has actively tackled inequities and disparities faced by her colleagues, and played a pivotal role in securing groundbreaking racial justice language as part of the national bargaining team.
