The ability to access all forms of reproductive health care, including abortion, is fundamental to our freedom as Americans. By planning to overturn Roe vs. Wade, the Supreme Court is directly attacking all working people, the effects of which will be disproportionately felt by lower-wage women, all those who can become pregnant, and communities of color.
This decision reaffirms what we know to be true from our nation’s history, you can only ban abortions for people who cannot afford them. Today, and every day, Oregon Labor stands united against any decision by the Supreme Court that puts the health and safety of workers who can become pregnant in jeopardy.
