On Tuesday, June 20, Congresswoman Suzanne Bonamici’s office, the Oregon AFL-CIO, TriMet, ATU Local 757, IBEW Local 48, the Oregon State Building and Construction Trades Council and OFNHP AFT Local 5017 held a news conference to highlight the historic investments into Oregon’s economy through the leadership of the Biden Administration and the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law.
These investments will support thousands of jobs for working people in our state by putting federal dollars into electric vehicle charging station construction, transit center improvements, electric public transportation transitions, and more. The money injected into Oregon’s economy will improve access to both public transportation and electric vehicle charging stations, lessening Oregon’s fossil fuel use and creating family-wage jobs in the process. By expanding the use of electric buses, we are moving further away from fossil fuels and helping shift our transportation and economy toward clean, zero-emissions energy sources.
